VK Pandian addressed rumors on Friday, clarifying through Instagram that he does not have an account on the platform ‘X.’ He stated that any accounts claiming to represent him on the platform are fraudulent. The former IAS officer expressed concern that his identity and photographs were being misused for political agendas.
RTI activist Pradip Pradhan expressed doubts regarding VK Pandian’s claims, highlighting that the accounts in question have been active for a considerable time without prior objections being raised.
The activist also raised concerns about the absence of legal action if these accounts were indeed fraudulent.
In a statement, Pradhan remarked, “He (Pandian) is fully aware of the existence of the ‘X’ account in question. Now that the account has drawn attention and faced scrutiny, he’s making this claim to protect his image.”
RTI activist Pradip Pradhan suggested that if someone had indeed created a fake account in VK Pandian’s name and posted misleading content, leading to defamation, Pandian should have filed an FIR with the cyber police to take action against the alleged impersonator.
It is notable that Pandian stepped back from active politics, embracing ‘Sanyas,’ after the BJD’s defeat in the 2024 General Elections.
