Legendary Odia actor Uttam Mohanty has passed away, leaving a huge void in the Odia film industry. He took his last breath while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Gurgaon. His family, fans, and the entire Odia cinema community are deeply mourning his loss.
With a career spanning decades, Mohanty acted in over 135 films across Odia, Bengali, and Hindi cinema, along with several popular TV serials. He was the only Odia actor to win the Best Actor Award for three consecutive years (1982-84) and was honored with the prestigious Jayadev Award in 1999 for his remarkable contribution to cinema.
