Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is visiting Delhi for two days to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the central government. This agreement will facilitate the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Jan Arogya Yojana in Odisha.

Accompanying him is Odisha Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling, who will be present at the MoU signing ceremony taking place at Vigyan Bhawan at 2 PM today. The Health Minister has previously highlighted the significance of this scheme, which aims to provide healthcare services to over 3.5 crore people in Odisha by integrating it with the existing Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana (GJAY).

Under the new combined scheme, men will receive health coverage of ₹5 lakh, while women will be entitled to ₹10 lakh. Beneficiaries will also receive a single health card to access these benefits at approximately 30,000 hospitals across the country. Notably, the state government has already linked the e-KYC data of 1 crore residents to the central database for Ayushman Bharat benefits, ensuring a smoother rollout of the program.

Overall, this initiative marks a significant advancement in enhancing healthcare access and quality for the people of Odisha.
