Former Team India captain Sourav Ganguly’s convoy was involved in an accident in West Bengal’s Purba Bardhaman district, but thankfully, no one was injured, police said on Friday.

The incident happened on Thursday near Dantanpur on the Durgapur Expressway when Ganguly was traveling in a car. A speeding lorry overtook the vehicle, leading to the accident, officials added.

As the lorry suddenly swerved, the driver of Ganguly’s car had to brake abruptly, causing a collision with the vehicles following behind, a West Bengal Police officer said.

“One of the vehicles gently hit Ganguly’s car. Two cars in his convoy suffered minor damage,” he added.

The officer said that Ganguly was on his way to attend an event organized by Burdwan University.

“He arrived at the event safely, and it went on without any problems,” the officer said.
