At least seven people lost their lives, and 37 others were injured when a truck collided with a chemical tanker and caught fire on the Jaipur-Ajmer Highway on Friday morning. Among the injured, 12 individuals are reported to be in critical condition.

The police stated that the fire erupted around 6:45 AM after the chemicals from the tanker ignited following an explosion. The blaze quickly spread, affecting more than 20 vehicles and a nearby pipe factory. As a result, the highway has been closed to traffic due to the ongoing fire and investigation.

Emergency services responded promptly, but the scene was chaotic as firefighters worked to control the flames and assist the injured. Witnesses described a terrifying situation with thick smoke filling the air and people desperately seeking help. The authorities are continuing their efforts to manage the aftermath of this tragic incident.

“We’re not sure how the accident happened because it was still dark in the morning.”. Many people were hurt and taken to SMS Hospital for treatment. “More information will be available soon,” said Manish Gupta, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Bhankrota.

As soon as the explosion was reported, over 30 ambulances and fire trucks rushed to the scene. Rescuers are facing challenges because the gas has spread throughout the accident area.
