President Vladimir Putin stated that the relationship between Russia and India is founded on a “special and privileged strategic partnership.” He expressed hope that both nations will work together to enhance their productive cooperation across various sectors.
According to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Putin extended his warm wishes to President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a message celebrating India’s 76th Republic Day.
He remarked, “Our relations are built on a special and privileged strategic partnership. I am confident that we will continue to collaborate effectively in all areas and engage constructively in international matters.”
Putin highlighted that this partnership aligns with the fundamental interests of both nations and contributes to establishing a fair multipolar international order.
He also noted that the Indian Constitution enacted 75 years ago, was crucial in creating effective state institutions and fostering democratic development in India.
“Since then, India has achieved significant success in various fields such as socio-economics and science, gaining global recognition,” he added.
Putin is anticipated to visit India later this year as part of the ongoing annual engagements between the leaders of both countries. The specific dates for his visit will be determined soon.
Putin and Modi maintain regular communication, including phone calls every few months, and often meet during international events. Last July, Modi visited Moscow for the 22nd Russia-India summit, and in October, he attended the BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia.
