At the Utkarsh Odisha Conclave 2025 held in Bhubaneswar, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi expressed his vision for Odisha to emerge as a leading force in India’s economic growth. The event, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aims to showcase the state’s potential as a hub for industrial development and innovation.

The conclave, taking place on January 28 and 29, 2025, has attracted investors from 12 countries and delegates from 20 nations. It serves as a platform to highlight Odisha’s strengths across various sectors, including information technology, renewable energy, textiles, chemicals, and food processing. Over the next two days, attendees will engage in specialized sessions designed to foster collaboration and explore new opportunities for investment.
During his address, CM Majhi emphasized that this conclave marks not just a moment of celebration but the beginning of a transformative journey for Odisha. He highlighted the state’s commitment to becoming an industrial powerhouse in Eastern India, aligning with the national vision of a developed India by 2047.

Investment Opportunities
The conclave is expected to generate significant investment interest, with over 100 investors already signing memoranda of understanding (MoUs) that could lead to an estimated ₹5 lakh crore in investments. This influx of capital is anticipated to create thousands of jobs and propel Odisha towards its goal of becoming a developed state by 2036.
A key highlight of the event is the collaboration with Singapore on various initiatives related to skill development and industrial growth. Additionally, a joint venture between JSW Group and POSCO aims to establish a world-class steel plant in Keonjhar, further enhancing Odisha’s industrial landscape.
Celebrating Entrepreneurship
In a move to promote entrepreneurship within the state, the conclave will honor 60 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) during its valedictory session. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to supporting local businesses and fostering self-reliance among aspiring entrepreneurs.
