An Odia Sanskrit scholar from Ganjam district, Odisha, has authored an epic poem (Mahakavya) in Sanskrit, capturing the life and achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The 700-page book, titled Narendra Arohanam, was written by Somanath Dash, an associate professor at the National Sanskrit University in Tirupati. The work was published by Somnath Sanskrit University in Veraval, Gujarat, and officially unveiled during a youth festival held in Veraval last week.

This comprehensive literary piece comprises 1,200 verses (shlokas) spread across 12 chapters, accompanied by explanations in English and Hindi. The book narrates the remarkable journey of Narendra Modi, starting from his modest roots in Gujarat, through his early years, his impactful tenure as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, and his ascent to becoming the Prime Minister of India, including his ongoing second term.

“Born into a modest family, Narendra Modi faced numerous challenges throughout his life and emerged as a role model for youth around the globe,” said the 48-year-old professor. “His determined political career and the hurdles he has surmounted reflect a remarkable story of resilience and leadership, earning a rightful place in the annals of history. This inspired me to document his story in Sanskrit,” Dash explained.

Somanath Dash shared that completing Narendra Arohanam was a journey that took him over four years of dedicated effort. During this time, several prominent personalities, including renowned Sanskrit scholars, shared their insights and feedback on his work.

Although Dash has never met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in person, he gathered extensive information about Modi’s life and accomplishments from various sources. These included books, journals, speeches, and the Prime Minister’s monthly radio program, Mann Ki Baat, among others.
