Authorities at Similipal Tiger Reserve in Mayurbhanj, Odisha, have announced a new requirement for visitors: all tickets must now be booked online. This update was shared by Prakash Chand Gogineni, the Regional Chief Conservator of Forests and Field Director.
Starting February 1, the government has mandated that all visitors book their tickets online to ensure a smoother entry and exit process, as well as to reduce traffic congestion for tourists and their vehicles. This change is also intended to enhance transparency and make the entry process more efficient.
The new rule will help eliminate irregularities related to permits for private vehicles.
How to Book Tickets Online:
To enter the park, visitors should access the websites www.similipal.org or www.ecotourodisha.com.
Click on the ‘Book Online’ option located at the top right corner of the site.
In the booking section, options will be available for entry tickets, overnight stays, jungle safaris, and boating.
Fill in all required information, and you will be directed to make a nominal payment.
After payment is completed, a confirmation message will be sent to you.
Enjoy your visit!
Additional Guidelines:
For an optimal experience, visitors can reserve 12-seater safari vehicles online before 7 AM on the day of their visit through www.similipal.org or www.ecotourodisha.com. Offline bookings can be made at entry gates after 7 AM.
The park prohibits non-vegetarian food and alcohol. However, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals can be pre-booked at Barehipani within the Tiger Reserve, managed by local communities through an Eco-Development Committee.
Professional cameras are allowed with prior permission and a fee deposit made either online or at the entry gates; however, drones are strictly prohibited within the park.
