Odisha Crime Branch’s Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) is still investigating alleged illegal activities in Koida Mines Raid and transportation involving Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader Raja Chakra. They recently raided the Korp Resources iron ore mine in the Koida area of Sundargarh district.

EOW Takes Vehicles from Mines

Reports say that EOW officials and local police raided the mines and seized more than ten Hyva trucks from inside. The search continued until about 9 pm.

Sources say the EOW thinks there are more hidden vehicles in the mines, so they will likely continue searching today. However, authorities have yet to issue an official confirmation on this matter.

The EOW previously got vehicle lists from weighbridges in the Koida mining area and conducted raids. During these raids, they seized ten vehicles registered to Raja Chakra’s company, Shankar Minerals.

Why is Raja Chakra being investigated?

The investigation started after someone reported large-scale illegal activities in the mining and loading of iron ore. This included overcharging for loading and unfair profit sharing. The report claimed that people connected to Raja Chakra were getting the most illegal profits.

Details of the alleged fraud:

These investigations are part of a probe into a bigger fraud, estimated to be worth around 500 crores. The EOW has conducted raids and investigations, including questioning Raja Chakra for 11 hours on March 3.

Investigation Intensified on Day 2:

On the second day of the investigation, the EOW raided six locations connected to Raja Chakra in Keonjhar, Koida, Dhamra, and Gopalpur on Wednesday. They seized 200 anonymous accounts and 20 vehicles believed to belong to the BJD leader.
