On Sunday, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren launched the ‘Abua Budget Portal and Mobile App’ to gather suggestions, feedback, and ideas from the public for the upcoming state budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year. This initiative aims to engage citizens, experts, and stakeholders in the budget-making process, ensuring a more inclusive approach to fiscal planning.

During the launch, Soren emphasized the government’s commitment to creating a balanced budget that prioritizes the welfare of the people while promoting sustainable and comprehensive development throughout the state. He referred to this initiative as part of the “Abua” (meaning “our”) government, highlighting its focus on addressing the needs and aspirations of residents, particularly in rural development and economic growth.

The Chief Minister stressed that the 2025-26 budget should aim for balanced progress across all sectors, with a special emphasis on strengthening the rural economy, which he described as vital for Jharkhand’s overall stability. He also pointed out the importance of enhancing revenue collection mechanisms to effectively implement development and welfare programs.

The ‘Abua Budget’ initiative invites input from a diverse range of participants, from experts to everyday citizens. All submitted suggestions will be carefully reviewed for potential inclusion in the budget. Additionally, the three individuals who provide the most valuable suggestions will be recognized by the state government.

The portal and mobile app will accept submissions until January 17, 2025. The launch event was attended by Finance Minister Radha Krishna Kishore, Urban Development Minister Sudivya Kumar, and Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari, among others.
