COVID-19 Deaths: Who Is Most at Risk?

Most people who died from COVID-19 had other serious health problems. Older adults and those with diseases like diabetes, heart issues, or kidney problems are at higher risk.

What Is Causing the Rise in Cases?

Health experts say that the increase in cases could be due to new variants of the virus, people gathering in groups, and less use of masks and sanitizers. Some people are not following safety rules as strictly as before, which may also be a reason for the rise.

What Should You Do?

Wear a mask in crowded places.

Wash your hands regularly.

Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

Get vaccinated if you haven’t already.

Stay home if you feel unwell or have symptoms like fever, cough, or difficulty breathing.

Symptoms to Watch For

Common Covid-19 symptoms include:

Fever

Cough

Sore throat

Shortness of breath

Fatigue

Loss of taste or smell

If you have these symptoms, get tested and stay away from others to prevent spreading the virus.

Testing and Hospitals

COVID-19 tests are available at government and private hospitals and clinics. If you test positive, follow the advice of your doctor and health authorities. Most people with mild symptoms can recover at home, but those with serious symptoms may need hospital care.

Vaccination

Vaccines are still the best way to protect yourself from severe illness. If you haven’t received all your shots, get vaccinated as soon as possible. Booster doses are also available for added protection.

Health officials are closely watching the situation. They are asking people to follow COVID-19 safety rules and to get tested if they feel sick. The government is prepared to take more steps if cases continue to rise.
