As the 76th Republic Day approaches, the Indian Army is preparing for a grand celebration that will showcase the nation’s strength, diversity, and resilience. This year’s parade will feature six marching contingents from the Army, including the Brigade of the Guards, Mahar Regiment, Jat Regiment, Garhwal Rifles, Jammu and Kashmir Rifles, and Corps of Signals.
In addition to the marching units, a variety of advanced military equipment will be displayed to demonstrate the armed forces’ technological capabilities. Notable items include the T-90 Bhishma tank, ICV BMP-II (Sarath), and the NAMIS (NAG Missile System).
A highlight of this year’s parade will be the Nandighosh, a quick-reaction fighting vehicle designed for rapid deployment. This 4×4 armored personnel carrier offers mine protection and is specifically built to transport troops safely. It can withstand blasts from explosives weighing up to 21 kg and carries a crew of 14 members, including the driver.
The Nandighosh vehicle has ten firing ports and a turret that can rotate 360 degrees, allowing for effective defense in various combat situations. Alongside Nandighosh, other impressive vehicles such as Chetak all-terrain vehicles, Akash air defense systems, BrahMos missile systems, Grad BM-21 rocket launchers, and Bajrang light strike vehicles will also be showcased during the ceremony at Kartavya Path on January 26.
The Republic Day Parade promises to be an exciting event for attendees and distinguished guests, highlighting India’s military prowess and commitment to national security.
