India has strongly criticized Pakistan for “spreading falsehoods” regarding the Kashmir issue, asserting that Pakistan must vacate the Indian territory it occupies illegally. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, made these remarks in response to inquiries about comments from the Pakistan Foreign Office, which described Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent statements on terrorism as “misleading and one-sided.”
Jaiswal emphasized that Pakistan’s ongoing promotion and sponsorship of cross-border terrorism is the primary obstacle to peace and security in the region. He stated, “The world is aware that the real issue lies in Pakistan’s active support of terrorism. Instead of disseminating false information, Pakistan should relinquish its illegal and forcible occupation of Indian territory.”

In a recent interview with US podcaster Lex Fridman, Prime Minister Modi highlighted that Pakistan has become a central hub for terrorism, causing significant suffering not only to India but to the global community as well. He pointed out that terrorist activities are often traced back to Pakistan, citing historical examples like the September 11 attacks and Osama bin Laden’s refuge in the country.
PM Modi urged Pakistan to abandon its reliance on state-sponsored terrorism for the benefit of its citizens. He expressed hope that the people of Pakistan could envision a future free from violence and fear, encouraging them to learn from past mistakes and choose a more constructive path.
Reflecting on his attempts to foster peace with Pakistan, PM Modi recounted his invitation to the Pakistani Prime Minister during his swearing-in ceremony and his visit to Lahore. Despite these gestures aimed at building better relations, he noted that they were met with hostility and betrayal. He concluded by expressing a desire for wisdom to guide Pakistan toward peace rather than conflict.
