IIM Sambalpur has officially launched its first full-time MBA program in Business Analytics at its Delhi campus located in Vasant Kunj. The two-year course is designed to enhance the skills of professionals in areas such as advanced analytics, big data, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.
Information regarding the program was shared on the institute’s official website on Tuesday, outlining the admission policy for the first batch for the academic session 2025-2027.
Admission Criteria and Process
The MBA in Business Analytics at IIM Sambalpur employs a three-stage selection process. Candidates with a strong CAT percentile, a background in STEM fields, and at least one year of relevant work experience are eligible to apply.
For the CAT-based selection, the minimum required percentiles are 85 for General candidates, 80 for EWS, 75 for NC-OBC, 55 for SC, and 40 for ST and DAP.
In the second stage, candidates who are shortlisted from Stage 1 and have completed their online application will have their Pre-PI Score calculated out of 80. This score includes points from the CAT score (40 points), Class X (3 points), Class XII (3 points), Graduation (4 points), relevant work experience (20 points), and STEM background (10 points).
The final stage involves personal interviews for those who qualify from Stage 2, leading to the creation of a final merit list.
Dual Degree Opportunity
IIM Sambalpur has also established a partnership with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Thailand to offer a dual-degree program. This initiative aims to provide students with a globally-focused and interdisciplinary education. In 2024, the MBA program at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) was recognized as the 23rd best in Asia and placed among the top 200 programs worldwide according to the QS Global MBA Rankings.
As part of the dual-degree program, students will complete their first year at the Delhi campus of, students will spend their first year studying at IIM Sambalpur’s campus in Delhi and can opt to continue their studies at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Thailand during their second year. Graduates will receive dual degrees in Business Analytics along with a one-year extended work visa in Thailand, helping them launch their international careers.
IIM Sambalpur currently offers an MBA in Fintech Management in partnership with Sorbonne Business School in Paris, along with an Executive PhD and DBA program in collaboration with Bordeaux University School of Management.
