Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, expressed on Saturday that he was honored to have a conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and is eager to visit India this year.

During their discussion, Musk and Modi talked about possible partnerships in technology and innovation, expressed their enthusiasm on X, saying, “I was honored to talk with PM Modi. I’m looking forward to visiting India later this year.”

PM Modi also provided insights into their conversation, mentioning that they discussed various topics, building on their earlier meeting in Washington, D.C., earlier this year. In a post on X, Modi mentioned, “I had a conversation with Elon Musk about various topics, including our discussions from our meeting in Washington, D.C. We looked into the significant opportunities for collaboration in technology and innovation. India is dedicated to enhancing our partnerships with the US in these fields.”

When PM Modi visited the US in February, he met with Musk to discuss a wide range of subjects, including space, transportation, and innovation. After that meeting, Modi posted, “I had a great discussion with Elon Musk in Washington, D.C. We talked about many topics, including his interests in space, transportation, technology, and innovation. I shared India’s efforts to improve governance with ‘Minimum Government, Maximum Governance.’”

This renewed interest in collaboration comes as Tesla is reportedly preparing to enter the Indian market, which aligns with ongoing discussions about a trade agreement between India and the United States.

Additionally, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal recently met with top officials from Elon Musk’s satellite company, Starlink, in Delhi. Goyal posted on X, “I discussed with a Starlink team that included Vice President Chad Gibbs and Senior Director Ryan Goodnight.” We discussed Starlink’s advanced technology, their current partnerships, and future investment plans in India.”

This engagement highlights the growing interest in technology and innovation between India and the US, with both countries looking to strengthen their ties in these crucial areas. As Tesla prepares to enter the Indian market and discussions continue on trade agreements, the collaboration between Indian leaders and influential figures like Elon Musk could lead to significant advancements in technology and innovation for both nations.
