On Friday, February 7, 2025, schools in Delhi and Noida were again targeted with bomb threats, triggering immediate security responses and adherence to emergency protocols.
School administrations and law enforcement agencies have activated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to guarantee the safety of students and staff.
Authorities are currently investigating the source of these threats while enhancing security measures across schools in the Delhi-NCR region. Officials are closely monitoring the situation to evaluate the credibility of the threats and ensure public safety.
Earlier on Wednesday, February 5, four private schools in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, received bomb threats via email, causing alarm among parents, teachers, and students. The affected schools were Step by Step School, The Heritage School, Gyanshree School, and Mayoor School.
Following the threats, school administrations promptly notified the district administration and police. A team comprising Uttar Pradesh Police, a Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS), a fire brigade, and a dog squad was dispatched to the schools, where they conducted thorough investigations.

Police reported that the situation was normal in all schools following the investigation, with many resuming classes after a short suspension. They also urged the public to disregard rumors and remain calm.

Later that day, a 14-year-old boy was apprehended for allegedly sending the bomb threat emails because he wanted to avoid attending school. He confessed to getting the idea from reading about similar bomb threats in schools across the country and extensively researched the topic online before composing the emails. The Class 9 student was charged under the IT Act at the Sector 126 police station in Noida.
In a related incident, on January 10, a Class 12 student was detained in Delhi for sending bomb-threat emails to 23 schools earlier in the year. Preliminary investigations revealed that he sought to evade examinations. The boy intentionally excluded his school from the list of targeted institutions.
These recurring bomb threats, which have turned out to be hoaxes, have put the police on heightened alert. Noida Police suspect student mischief behind the bomb threats, particularly because exams are underway. A new threat was written in a South Indian language, differing from the previous ones.
The cyber team is working to find out the origins of the email. The school administration at Ahlcon International School informed the Pandav Nagar police station about the email received by the school’s principal. Bomb Disposal Squad checked the school premises and found nothing suspicious. St. Stephen’s College also received a bomb threat through email.
