To manage the expected large crowds during the year-end celebrations, Central Railway has temporarily halted the sale of platform tickets at Pune and 13 other major stations. This restriction will be in place from noon on December 29 until January 2.
The purpose of this measure is to reduce congestion on the platforms and facilitate smoother movement for passengers. The stations affected by this decision include Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Dadar, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Thane, Kalyan, and Panvel in the Mumbai Division; Pune in the Pune Division; Nagpur in the Nagpur Division; as well as Nashik Road, Bhusaval, Akola, Solapur, Kalaburagi, and Latur in the Solapur Division.
To accommodate vulnerable groups, senior citizens and individuals with medical needs are exempt from these restrictions. Central Railway has advised passengers to plan their journeys accordingly and emphasized that this action aims to create a safer and more comfortable travel experience during the festive season.
