At least four individuals were injured in a multi-vehicle collision involving a Mo Bus in Bhubaneswar, near Raj Mahal Square, on Thursday morning. The incident has reignited concerns among locals about the safety of public transport in the city.
The accident occurred around 8 AM when an electric Mo Bus, traveling from Master Canteen to Raj Mahal Square, suddenly braked. This abrupt stop led to a non-AC Route 26 Mo Bus, which was following closely behind, crashing into it. The impact caused a chain reaction, resulting in three cars colliding with each other as they attempted to navigate the situation.

Witnesses reported that the scene quickly became tense, with bystanders expressing frustration over the frequency of such accidents involving public transport vehicles. Many locals gathered to demand accountability for the driver of the Mo Bus and called for effective measures to prevent future incidents.
Emergency services responded promptly, and the injured were transported to Capital Hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries is currently being evaluated. Meanwhile, police worked to disperse the crowd and restore order after approximately 30 minutes of disruption.
Concerns have been raised regarding the speed at which the electric Mo Bus was traveling before the incident, with some witnesses alleging reckless driving. They questioned whether the driver was fit to operate the vehicle safely. In response to these ongoing safety issues, authorities have stated that an investigation will be conducted to determine the precise cause of this latest accident.
This incident is part of a troubling pattern, as recent reports have highlighted similar accidents involving Mo Buses in Bhubaneswar. Despite government regulations limiting their speed to 40 kilometers per hour, local residents continue to voice their worries about safety on the roads.
