Amit Shah, the Home Minister, said that the government has blocked 805 apps and 3,266 websites because they were a threat to national security.

The government is planning to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to find “mule accounts,” which are bank accounts that cybercriminals use to hide money they’ve stolen.

Speaking at a meeting about cyber security, Shah said they’re working with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and other banks to create a system that can spot these mule accounts and shut them down before they can be used.

The Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) is the one that recommended blocking those apps and websites.

Shah also mentioned that 399 banks and other financial companies are working together to fight cybercrime. They’ve shared information about more than 6 lakh suspicious things, which has helped them catch over 19 lakh mule accounts and prevent about 2,038 crore rupees from being stolen.

The government wants to make sure people know about the “STOP-THINK-TAKE ACTION” message from Prime Minister Modi, which encourages people to be careful and avoid cyber fraud.

Shah pointed out that India’s digital world is growing quickly, which means there are also more cyber attacks. He said that to control cyber fraud, they need to tackle the problems with the software, services, and users that make up the internet.

India is now one of the biggest digital countries in the world, and the digital economy makes up a large part of the country’s total economy.

The Home Ministry is also setting up Cyber Crime Forensic Training Labs in all states and territories. They also have an online training platform called ‘CyTrain’ where many police officers have signed up and received certificates.
