India is gearing up for its 76th Republic Day celebration, with the film “Sky Force” making a notable impact at the box office. On its opening day, the movie earned approximately ₹11.25 crore (net) in India, showcasing a strong performance, particularly in major cities like Mumbai and Bengaluru, where evening and night screenings attracted the most viewers. The Hindi 2D version of the film played a significant role in its overall earnings.

However, the film experienced a decline in revenue on its second day, with collections dropping to ₹0.81 crore (net), bringing the total earnings after two days to ₹12.06 crore. Despite a promising start, the decrease in Day 2 collections indicates that maintaining audience interest will be vital for its long-term success.

On Day 1, occupancy rates were highest in Mumbai at 26.75%, with other regions like NCR and Bengaluru also showing moderate attendance. “Sky Force” tells the story of A B Devayya’s courageous efforts during a significant historical conflict. Directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani, and produced by Dinesh Vijan, Jyoti Deshpande, and Amar Kaushik, the film is set to hit theaters on January 24, 2025.

The film has received positive reviews, including a four-star rating from News18 Showsha, which praised its execution and treatment as a modern patriotic film that emphasizes friendship and loyalty over politics.

As “Sky Force” continues to draw audiences, it faces competition from other films like “Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama” and “Daaku Maharaaj.” It will also compete with Shahid Kapoor’s action thriller “Deva,” which is set to premiere on January 31, 2025.

“Sky Force,” based on India’s retaliatory strike on Pakistan’s Sargodha airbase during the 1965 Indo-Pakistani war, serves as an ideal release for the Republic Day weekend. The film stars Akshay Kumar as Wing Commander KO Ahuja and Veer Pahariya as Squadron Leader TK Vijaya. The trailer has garnered positive reactions, and the inclusion of Lata Mangeshkar’s iconic song “Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon” adds to its patriotic appeal.

With “Sky Force,” Akshay Kumar continues his trend of starring in patriotic films, following successful titles like “Airlift,” “Kesari,” and “Gold.” This latest venture aims to resonate with audiences during India’s Republic Day celebrations.
