₹4000 Crore Road Projects Launched by Union Minister Gadkari Across Odisha

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari visited Odisha on Thursday, April 17, 2025, to kick off and lay the foundation for a series of worth ₹4000 crore Road projects . When he arrived at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar, he was welcomed by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and State BJP president Manmohan Samal.

Gadkari began his day by attending the Dr. Harekrushna Mahatab Memorial Lecture at Ravenshaw University in Cuttack, where he spoke about infrastructure development in Odisha as part of the 125th birth anniversary celebrations of the former chief minister. He also participated in a national conference and visited the World Skill Centre in Bhubaneswar in the afternoon.

The main highlight of his visit was a public event at Baramunda Maidan in Bhubaneswar, where he inaugurated and laid the foundation for 19 national highway projects covering 105 kilometers through the districts of Khurda, Puri, Ganjam, Kandhamal, and Nayagarh. Key projects include the four-laning of the Banarpal-Godibandha section, widening of the Daringbadi Ghat on NH-59, and expanding NH-10 from Mangalpur to Kayangola.

According to Works Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, Gadkari is also expected to announce new infrastructure plans and measures to speed up the expansion of national highways in the state. These projects aim to strengthen Odisha’s road network, improve connectivity, and support economic growth in both rural and urban areas.
