Who is Nidhi Tewari? New Private Secretary to Narendra Modi

The Personnel Ministry recently shared that Nidhi Tewari, an officer from the Indian Foreign Service (IFS), is now the private secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She’s a 2014-batch IFS officer and was already working as a deputy secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has officially approved her for this new job.

As per the order dated March 29, Nidhi will take up this role at Level 12 of the pay scale. Her position as private secretary is linked to the Prime Minister’s term, meaning she’ll serve as long as he does.

Who is Nidhi Tewari?

Nidhi Tewari is an IFS officer who started her career in 2014. Before this big step, she was a deputy secretary in the PMO, a role she took on in November 2022. She’s known for her hard work and skills, which have led her to this important position.

Earlier, Nidhi worked as an undersecretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, where she focused on topics like disarmament and international security. Her experience in these areas makes her a great fit to help the Prime Minister.
