Trump Calls for Fair Trade, Announces Reciprocal Tariffs

President Donald Trump criticized other countries for imposing high tariffs on US goods, saying it was time for the US to respond.

For decades, other countries have taxed our goods unfairly. Now, it’s our turn to do the same,” he said.

He pointed out that the European Union, China, Brazil, India, Mexico, Canada, and others charge much higher tariffs on US products, calling it “very unfair.”

  • Trump said, “India charges a 100% tariff on our products, China’s tariffs are twice as high as ours, and South Korea’s are four times higher.”

He announced that starting April 2, the US will introduce reciprocal tariffs:

“If they tax us, we will tax them. If they block our products with unfair rules, we will do the same to them.”

Trump Criticizes Imported Goods, Supports American Farmers

President Donald Trump raised concerns about goods coming into the US from other countries, saying they often lack proper inspection and could be unsafe or low quality.

“Many imported goods arrive in poor condition. They may be uninspected, dirty, or even harmful,” Trump said.

He added that these imports flood the market and create problems for American farmers, making it harder for them to compete.

Trump Talks Economy, Taxes, and Energy Costs

President Donald Trump blamed the previous Democratic administration for economic struggles and high inflation, calling it an “economic catastrophe and inflation nightmare.”

“Their policies raised energy prices and made everyday necessities too expensive. We faced the worst inflation in 48 years,” he said. Trump vowed to reverse the damage and make America affordable again.

To support American-made vehicles, Trump proposed making car loan interest tax-deductible, but only for cars built in the US. He also pledged to cut taxes on domestic manufacturing to boost production.

He assured seniors that Social Security benefits would not be taxed and promised to lower energy costs.

The Biden administration shut down over 100 power plants. We are reopening many of them now,” Trump stated.

As he spoke about his administration’s budget cuts, Democrats voiced their opposition, reacting with groans, shouts, and accusations of dishonesty.

Trump’s Vision for America’s Future

At 78 years old, President Donald Trump declared that he was “just getting started” with his ambitious plans to reshape the country.

“The American Dream is stronger than ever. Our country is making a historic comeback, unlike anything the world has ever seen,” he said.

He highlighted the achievements of his first six weeks in office, promising to push forward with his bold reforms and efforts to end the Ukraine war, no matter the challenges.

Trump said, “In just 43 days, we’ve achieved more than most administrations do in four or even eight years,” as his supporters in Congress chanted “USA! USA!”
