On February 24, 2025, the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme will disburse its 19th payment to eligible farmers across India. This installment will benefit eligible farming families across India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially launch this installment during his visit to Bhagalpur, Bihar.

This initiative provides financial support of ₹6,000 annually to landholding agricultural families, divided into three equal installments of ₹2,000 each. These installments are disbursed every four months directly into the beneficiaries’ bank accounts. Certain individuals are not eligible for the PM Kisan scheme. These include those who hold or have held important government positions, such as ministers, members of legislative assemblies, mayors, and district panchayat chairpersons. Additionally, institutional landowners and former or current holders of constitutional posts are also excluded.

Checking Beneficiary Status

Visit the official PM Kisan website at pmkisan.gov.in. Once there, navigate to the “Farmers Corner” section and select the “Beneficiary Status” option. You will then need to enter either your Unique Identification Number (UID) or your bank account number. After entering these details, click on “Get Data” to access your beneficiary status and view any recent transactions. This process allows you to verify if you are included in the list of beneficiaries and check the status of your payments.

eKYC Requirement

To ensure that benefits under the PM Kisan scheme reach the right people, all registered farmers must complete the electronic Know Your Customer (eKYC) process. This process is crucial for maintaining transparency and efficiency in the scheme. There are three easy ways to complete eKYC:

Use the OTP-based method through the PM Kisan website or mobile app. This involves entering your UID number and verifying it with a one-time password sent to your registered mobile number.

Alternatively, you can visit a nearby Common Service Centre (CSC) or State Seva Kendra (SSK) for biometric-based verification, which uses fingerprint or iris scan authentication.

Lastly, you can use the PM Kisan mobile app for face authentication-based eKYC, which allows you to complete the process from your mobile device by scanning your face. These methods ensure that only eligible farmers receive the benefits, preventing any misuse of the scheme.

Eligibility Criteria

The PM Kisan scheme excludes certain categories of individuals. Serving or retired government officers (except multi-tasking staff, Class IV, or Group D employees), pensioners receiving over ₹10,000 monthly, and those who have paid income tax in the previous assessment year are not eligible.

Surrendering PM Kisan Benefits

Start by going to the official Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi website at pmkisan.gov.in.

Click on the “Voluntary Surrender of PM-Kisan Benefits” link, usually found in the Farmer Corner section.

Fill in your registration number and the displayed captcha code.

Request an OTP, which will be sent to your mobile number linked to your Aadhaar card.

Enter the OTP to confirm that you want to surrender your benefits.

Important Note: Once you surrender your benefits, you will no longer receive any payments under the PM Kisan scheme, and you cannot re-register for the program in the future. This step ensures that the scheme’s resources are directed towards those who truly need them.
