On Friday night, February 14, 2025, a tragic accident occurred in Bhubaneswar when a Mo Bus struck a scooter, resulting in the death of a woman and serious injuries to her husband. The incident took place under an overbridge in the Tamando area. The Mo Bus, which was operating on Route Number 33 and returning to the Kalinga Nagar depot, collided with at least two scooters near a shopping mall. Eyewitnesses reported that the bus was speeding recklessly at the time of the accident.
The bus first hit a scooter carrying a couple. The woman riding as a pillion was caught under the wheels and tragically killed on the spot. Her husband was thrown off the scooter and taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition. The bus continued its reckless path, hitting another scooter and injuring its passengers.

One witness recounted, “I heard a loud bang and looked over to see a speeding Mo Bus had run over a woman and was dragging another scooter behind it.” In total, four people were involved in the collision.

As news of the accident spread, residents expressed their anger by vandalizing the bus. This incident has heightened tensions in the area, especially since it follows another recent accident involving a Mo Bus that resulted in the death of a young girl in Nandankanan.
