In a distressing event, Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was critically injured after being reportedly stabbed by a robber who broke into his home in Bandra (West). According to sources, the incident occurred around 2:30 AM on Thursday while the actor was asleep with his family.
The intruder fled the scene when other family members woke up. Police have formed multiple teams to catch the suspect. A senior police officer confirmed the incident, stating that Khan had been taken to Lilavati Hospital for treatment.
Saif Ali Khan was brought to Lilavati Hospital at approximately 3:30 AM night. He has sustained six injuries, two of which are serious. One injury is near his spine. We are performing surgery on him, led by neurosurgeon Nitin Dange and cosmetic surgeon Leena Jain, with anesthetist Nisha Gandhi. “We will share additional information regarding his condition once the surgery is completed,” stated Niraj Uttamani, CEO of Lilavati Hospital.
Saif Ali Khan’s team released a statement confirming that there was an attempted burglary and that he was undergoing surgery. The statement requested patience from the media and fans, emphasizing that it is now a matter for the police.
A source revealed that Saif confronted the thief without any weapon to protect his family during the nighttime incident. He fought bravely to prevent harm to his loved ones and got injured in the process, while the intruder was armed.
Fortunately, his injuries are not life-threatening, as one of the knife wounds is on his back. The police have launched an investigation and are reviewing CCTV footage from around his home.
Reports indicate his wife Kareena Kapoor Khan and their children, Taimur and Jeh, are safe.
The Joint Commissioner of Police for Law and Order in Mumbai confirmed the incident, stating that Saif was taken to Lilavati Hospital for treatment last night and that CCTV footage is being analyzed to identify potential suspects.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police for the Bandra division confirmed that an unidentified person had entered Saif Ali Khan’s home. There was a struggle between Saif and the intruder, resulting in injuries for the actor, who is currently receiving medical care. The investigation is ongoing.
Saif is the son of actress Sharmila Tagore and cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. He began his acting career in 1993 with the film “Parampara” and has appeared in various popular movies such as “Yeh Dillagi,” “Main Khiladi Tu Anari,” “Kachche Dhaage,” “Hum Saath-Saath Hain,” “Dil Chahta Hai,” “Kal Ho Naa Ho,” “Hum Tum,” “Parineeta,” “Salaam Namaste,” “Ta Ra Rum Pum,” “Love Aaj Kal,” “Race,” “Cocktail,”, “Tanhaji, and “Devara Part- 1.”
