Elon Musk’s social media platform, X, has raised the price of its premium-plus subscription plan in multiple markets starting December 21. This increase aims to enhance payments for creators using the platform. In the United States, the monthly fee for the premium-plus plan has jumped from $16 to $22, marking a significant 40% increase. Meanwhile, the prices for the basic and premium tiers remain unchanged at $3 and $8 per month, respectively.

This change follows a shift in X’s revenue-sharing model introduced in October, which allows subscription fees to more directly support creator payouts based on content quality and engagement rather than just ad views. New subscribers will immediately see the updated pricing, while existing users will maintain their current rates until January 20, 2025.

The premium-plus plan offers subscribers several benefits, including an ad-free experience, expanded access to the Grok AI chatbot, and real-time analytics through a feature called Radar. These enhancements are part of X’s strategy to provide more value to its users while also generating additional revenue.

Overall, this price adjustment reflects X’s ongoing efforts to support content creators on its platform while exploring new ways to diversify its revenue streams beyond traditional advertising.
