Three members of the Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF), suspected of being involved in grenade attacks on police stations in Punjab’s border areas, were killed in a police encounter in Pilibhit district, Uttar Pradesh, on Monday morning.
Initially, the Punjab Police announced that the suspects had been arrested, but later reports from UP Police confirmed that they had died shortly before 10 am during the encounter.
The individuals, identified as Gurvinder Singh (25), Virendra Singh alias Ravi (23), and Jasan Preet Singh alias Pratap Singh (18), were all from Gurdaspur.
Punjab’s Director General of Police, Gaurav Yadav, shared on social media that the operation was a collaborative effort between the Punjab and Uttar Pradesh police forces within the Puranpur police station area. He described it as a significant breakthrough against a terror module linked to Pakistan.
During the encounter, the suspects allegedly opened fire at the police, prompting a retaliatory response. They were taken to a local hospital for treatment but unfortunately succumbed to their injuries. Two police constables were hurt during the shootout.

Authorities recovered two AK-47 rifles and two Glock pistols from the scene. Investigations are ongoing to uncover more details about the terror module and its connections. The bodies have been sent for postmortem, and efforts are underway to inform their families and gather information about any accomplices who may have helped them while they were hiding in Pilibhit.
In a significant achievement against a terrorist group supported by Pakistan, the Uttar Pradesh Police and Punjab Police worked together to confront three members of the Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF). These individuals had previously fired at police during their operation. Punjab’s police chief, Gaurav Yadav said in the post that this operation is a major step forward in tackling the KZF terror module.
The injured suspects were quickly taken to the Community Health Center (CHC) in Puranpur for urgent medical help. Meanwhile, investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of the terror network they were part of. According to officers from Uttar Pradesh, the three men died from their injuries while receiving treatment at the hospital.
